Few Have Confidence That The New Speaker Will Be Able To Change Parliament.

Only 28% of the voting public think that the new speaker will be able to bring about any significant change to parliament, according to latest research from 2020 Research (Monthly 10 Survey, June).

The considerable damage caused to the reputation of MPs is confirmed in the research, which shows that an overwhelming 84% now trust their MPs less than they did a year ago.

The crises in the financial sector has also left a lasting mark on their reputations, and 64% now trust their banks less than a year ago.

Reputation of the media shows much less change. 23% trust newspapers less than a year ago, and 15% trust the BBC less.

Reputation of the police shows very little change, with 13% trusting them less than a year ago, and 6% trusting them more.
